Hi all, I wonder what you will look at in DC to understand the topic/value of tolerance? Is anyone interested in going to a museum that has tolerance as a theme? Any other ideas?
The population of America includes many ethnic groups coming from many races, nationalities and religions.Assimilation of those different people is disputed and some say the melting pot should be better described as a salad bowl where the various groups kept distinct and uniques from one another, creating a richly diverse country.
Since 1776 a great deal of assimilation has taken place in the United States, yest some groups still feel separated from the culture as a whole. They consider themselves Americans, but they also retain the original language and the cultural traditions.

The tolerance museum in Washington DC should be interesting to the group. I guess we can add a link to the museum's website for referrences and ideas.
